Austin, TX (PR Log) September 6, 2010 – Frank C. Erwin, Jr., Events Center, basketball home of the Texas Longhorns, will be the site of a free Opportunity Expo for military veterans and military spouses on Thursday, October 7. The producer of the event, Cincinnati-based RecruitMilitary, LLC, is inviting men and women who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life, veterans who already have civilian work experience, members of the National Guard and reserves, and their spouses. The job seekers will interview with corporate employers, law-enforcement agencies and other government employers, franchisors, educational institutions, and veterans service agencies. The Expo will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m..
RecruitMilitary expects more than 25 organizations to attend. Already scheduled are AutoNation, Bell Helicopter Textron, Inc., Capella University, DeVry University, Fluid Academy – Truck Driving School, Goodman Manufacturing Company, Impressions on the Go, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), New England Financial, Schlumberger, Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Strayer University, The Art Institutes, The Boeing Company, United States Army Recruiting Command, U.S. Lawns, URS Corporation – Lear Siegler Services, Inc., Virginia College, and Western International University.
RecruitMilitary (www2.recruitmilitary.com) will produce the Expo in cooperation with The American Legion, an association of veterans who served during times of war. The Legion has 2.7 million members in nearly 15,000 posts throughout the world. Congress chartered the organization in 1919.
